About Build-Software: 

Build-Software is a Belgian company that has been developing specialised software for the construction sector since 1997. As a digitisation partner for the construction industry, their ERP package 'Build' offers an advanced solution supporting the entire process, from estimation to post-calculation and invoicing. It combines software and full support in a single ‘software does it all’ package. The package serves all types of construction, including general contractors, roads and infrastructure, finishing and installation, project development, and engineering firms.

The need:
To provide good service to its customers in the construction industry, Build-Software sought a scalable solution that allowed customers to be onboarded easily. The platform also needed to allow Build-Software to grow smoothly. It had to be future-proof, modernising both internal and customer environments, offering growth opportunities, and meeting all security standards. So in short a scalable, flexible cloud solution, suitable for both internal production and customer environments, ready for the future.

Until 2022, Build-Software operated within a private cloud, which offered only limited options. There was little flexibility, and the solution did not fully meet their needs. Although they already had a clear vision of the desired outcome, they had limited experience with Azure resources.

Why Build-Software chose Intercept:
In search of a suitable Azure partner, Build-Software contacted Microsoft in 2021 for advice. Microsoft recommended Intercept as Microsoft Azure partner. After Build-Software presented their case to Intercept, Intercept listened carefully to Build-Software’s needs and made a proposal. This developed design gave Build-Software the confidence to continue working with Intercept as their partner.

After Build-Software presented the case to Intercept, the latter submitted a proposal, allowing Build-Software to understand the pros and cons of the available resources and to ask questions about them. Intercept guided Build-Software throughout the process, helping to strike the optimal balance between functionality and affordability. Throughout, Intercept listened attentively, adjusted the design where necessary, and continued to provide ongoing support.

The results:

•  Efficient delivery: Build-Software now has an efficient way to make the Build application available to clients, without clients needing to invest in hardware themselves.
• Security and compliance: The solution meets all modern security standards and is easy to monitor and manage.
• Modernisation: Both the internal production environment and the client environments have been modernised.
• Robust design: The original design has been functioning stably for four years and continues to perform well with a few updates.
• Contributed to growth of Build app users: The number of users grew from 50 to 230 thanks to the scalability of the solution.
• Secure access: Role-based access ensures clear distribution of rights, fast support and protection of client data.
• Continuity and support: Intercept continues to provide support, listens to feedback and expands monitoring where needed.

Operational benefits:

Build-Software can now deliver its app to customers with ease. Where customers previously sometimes needed to invest in expensive hardware, they can now use the cloud solution, which is accessible and affordable for everyone. Additionally, thanks to role-based access, a Build-Software support employee can log in at the appropriate level to provide the needed support, while keeping data secure. The solution provides clarity, maintains proper data separation, and makes it much easier for Build-Software to support its users.
